GYN Oncology

Details

These surgeons complete a three to four year fellowship training program for the surgical management of ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar, and vaginal cancers. The training includes “general surgeon” status – bowel repair and resection, ureteral repair and reconstruction, bladder procedures are learned and privileges are obtained at hospitals. GYN Oncologists handle the most difficult cases and are often called to assist OBGYN’s with complications. Laparoscopic GYN Oncologists use GYN Oncology techniques in minimally invasive surgery to provide one of the best options for the surgical management of the most difficult cases.
